What to expect when replacing Septic System components:

When replacing a tank or distribution box, the process will go something like this:

• Receive free estimate
• Send in signed paperwork to our office.
• Our team will assemble a minor repair permit packet.
• Your permit will be turned into the county and then reviewed to be issued in a couple of days by your local county.
• Once permits are issues, locates will be called, and a technician will call you to schedule your installation day.
• On the day of your installation, several of our DEQ certified technicians will come out with your materials and a machine. Within a couple of hours of work, your components will be replaced good as new.
• The next day a County Inspector will come out and check that our work is up to County code and done to satisfactory completion!
• We will then immediately backfill and cover your components, so they are level to the ground.
• Now all you have to do is throw down some grass seed, and the job is done!

When replacing more complex components such as a drain field or ATT system, the process is relatively the same, with some minor differences:

• Permit Packets and County issuing times on these components often take slightly longer since they require a Major Repair Permit.
• Installation on these may take a day or two, as opposed to a couple of hours.
• The rest of the process should be relatively the same.

The most common replacements in a residential setting are septic tanks.

This is because most septic tanks installed before 1990 were installed as steel tanks. Nowadays, we know that steel is not a proper material for use in septic components since it easily rusts and becomes brittle under normal septic conditions.

Now, we replace rotting steel tanks and components with concrete ones, because it has proven to be a longer-lasting and more sustainable resource. This way, your septic system can stay functioning properly and continue to keep the environment healthy.

The most common sizes for residential tanks are either 1000 gallons or 1500 gallons. 1000 gallon tanks are good up to four bedrooms. Five bedrooms or above require a 1500 gallon tank, per County requirement.
